Osteopathy is a holistic system of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of medical conditions. It works with the structure and function of the body, based on the principle that the well-being of an individual depends on the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues functioning together harmoniously. Many of the problems people suffer from can be relieved long term.
I assess and treat people of any age including newborns, children and the elderly, women in pregnancy, athletes and dancers; not only targeting symptomatic painful areas, but also finding and treating the cause.
I use a wide range of techniques including massage, shiatsu, acupressure, stretching, cranial (sometimes referred to as 'cranial osteopathy') and joint mobilization techniques.
This breadth of approach allows me to focus on every patient's precise needs.
I will work with the patient to allow their body to begin the healing process and provide advice on the use of core stability and postural exercises to aid recovery, promote health and prevent symptoms recurring.
